In the event of exposure to harmful substances, immediate steps should be taken to minimize harm and seek medical attention. If the substance contacts the eyes, remove contact lenses, if any, and thoroughly rinse the eyes with water or saline for 20 to 30 minutes, while ensuring medical help is on the way. It's crucial not to apply anything to the eyes without a healthcare professional's guidance and to proceed to the hospital post-rinsing, regardless of symptom presence.

For skin contact with the substance, promptly rinse the area with water, discard any contaminated clothing, and cleanse the skin using soap. Should irritation or any discomfort occur, medical assistance should be sought without delay.

In cases of inhalation, the affected individual must immediately move to an area with clean, fresh air. Exhibiting symptoms such as breathing difficulties warrants urgent medical attention. First responders or rescuers need to use suitable respiratory protection, with a preference for SCBA, to prevent exposure.

With ingestion, inducing vomiting is not recommended. Instead, if the individual is conscious and not experiencing seizures, provide them with water to dilute the ingested substance and call for medical help right away. If unconscious or seizing, position them on their side with their head lower than the rest of their body to maintain an open airway and expedite hospital transport.

Across all scenarios, the fundamental actions are to cease further exposure, apply immediate first aid measures such as rinsing or diluting with water, and urgently seek medical intervention (NTP, 1992).
